Stainless Steel Grade 400
SS 400 series stainless steel scrap — martensitic and ferritic grades.
Product Details
Stainless steel grade 400 series scrap — encompassing both martensitic (410, 420) and ferritic (430, 446) stainless steels. These grades are known for high strength, hardness, and magnetic properties, distinguishing them from austenitic grades like SS 304. Ferritic SS 430 is commonly used in kitchen appliances, automotive trim, and architectural panels, while martensitic grades are used in cutlery, tools, and wear-resistant applications. Supplied sorted and graded for stainless steel recyclers and foundries. The 400 series has lower nickel content than 304, making it a more economical feedstock for certain applications. Material is verified for grade composition and supplied in container lots with documentation. Suitable for stainless steel production, tooling applications, and specialty alloy manufacturing.
