Stainless Steel Grade 202
SS 202 stainless steel scrap — manganese-alloyed austenitic grade.
Product Details
Stainless steel grade 202 scrap — an austenitic grade with manganese replacing part of the nickel content, making it more economical than SS 304 while offering similar appearance and general corrosion resistance. SS 202 is widely used in decorative applications, kitchen utensils, automotive trim, and architectural elements where moderate corrosion resistance is acceptable. The manganese content (typically 7–10%) provides work hardening characteristics and good formability. Supplied to stainless steel mills as a cost-effective feedstock for producing 202-grade products. Material is sorted, cleaned, and verified for grade consistency. Available in various forms including sheet scrap, pipe scrap, and mixed solids. Supplied in container lots with grade verification documentation.
